Incident Report October: Week 1 & 2

The regional offices of a bank were broken into via the roof. An undisclosed amount of money was reported stolen from a safe.

The Response was alerted to an attempted theft, on Pelican Place, of a client's car tyre. The suspects had fled before the Response arrived.

The Response was alerted to an armed robbery of a supermarket on Eagle Street. 6 Assailants took money from the cash registers and fled, shooting a security guard in the arm on their way out.

05/10/18
Cash in Transit arriving at a butchery on Elliot Road was robbed by 4 armed assailants who acquired the keys to the store's safe containing a large sum of money that was ready for collection.

A client reported a break-in, intruders entered through the roof and ripped the alarm out, which had not been armed. A safe, laptops and cash were stolen.

The Police were contacted to respond to an alarm received from a Pharmacy in Libode, intruders had stolen a Capitec ATM machine.

There was an attempted theft of gas cylinders at a petrol station in Myezo. An employee triggered the panic alarm which caused the suspects to flee.

An alarm signal was received from an attorneys office on Park Road. The Response reported a burglary, suspects were not found but appeared, from bloodstains, to have sustained injuries from breaking a window.

A bottle store in Mount Frere had an attempted burglary but the intruders fled with nothing when they triggered the alarm.

An armed robbery occurred at a clothing store on Chatam Street. 3x armed intruders entered the store and made off with money from the tills and from a safe in the office.

A panic signal was received from a clothing store on York Road which had 6x armed intruders enter the shop and demand the money from the tills after which they fled.

Alarm signal was received from a bottle store in Libode, the Police were informed as well as an on-site security guard who reported there had been a break-in though nothing was stolen.

A supermarket in the Circus Triangle shopping mall was burgled.

A church in Ngangelizwe had a generator stolen from the yard during the night. Intruders gained access over a fence. The alarm had not been armed, failing to alert anyone to the theft at the time.

A panic signal was received from a business in Cement Road. The security guard reported intruders had attempted to access the premises but fled when he triggered the panic alarm.

A panic signal was received from a client who reported that a vehicle had driven into their wall, the driver fled the scene but a passenger was apprehended.

A panic signal was received from a guest house on Finch Street. Intruders climbed over the fence and were harassing the receptionist who fortunately triggered the panic alarm causing them to flee the scene.

An armed robbery occurred at a clothing store in Qumbu. A gunman forced his way into the store and demanded money from the cash registers. The panic alarm was triggered but suspect escaped.

21/10/18
Alarm signal was received from a tyre dealer in Wesley Street. The response investigated and reported an attempted burglary and that the outdoor beams had been damaged. A guard was posted for the night.

The guards at a Cash and Carry in Vulindlela were held up by 6x armed intruders. The alarm was triggered and when the response arrived they reported that nothing had been taken but the intruders had damaged property.

Panic signals were received from a bakery on Ngubo Road. Client also called in to report an armed robbery. 4x armed intruders accosted the receptionist and gained access to the cash office taking cellphones, a laptop and a large sum of money.

23/10/18
A burglary occurred at a pre-school in Waterfall. The response arrived and reported a fence and kitchen door had been broken by intruders who stole groceries.

26/10/18
A panic signal was received from a bottle store in Mqanduli. Client and guards were contacted and they confirmed an armed robbery at closing time. 3x armed intruders made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
